California State Parks
Why not visit the great beauty of the natural resources in the public parks right here in California?
California’s State Parks system holds the largest and most diverse examples of natural and cultural heritage of any state agency in the country. Over 70 million people annually visit such California treasures as the redwood forests, wildlife reserves, reservoirs, state parks, state beaches, and recreation and wilderness areas.
California State Parks total nearly 1.6 million acres, with over 339 miles of coastline, 975 miles of lake and river frontage, nearly 15,000 campsites and over 4,456 miles of hiking, biking and equestrian trails. Visitors can enjoy the diversity of the natural resources and cultural treasures in California’s state parks, which will be preserved and protected for future generations.
Visitors to California’s state parks have a new platform for booking reservations. The new reservation system, ReserveCalifornia™, will be easy-to-use and similar to booking hotels, airline tickets and other comparable services.
Reservations can be made either online or by phone:
Online: Reservations are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on Reserve California.
Phone: Customer Call Center. The center is available 7 days a week, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. PST (except New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day). The best times to call are midday and midweek, when the phone lines are less busy.
