SACRAMENTO—Yesterday, two bills authored by Assemblymember Jim Wood (D-Healdsburg) to fight escalating prescription drug costs received approval, each in a different committee.
SACRAMENTO--On Tuesday, April 18, AB 315, a bill intended to uncover the mystery of how pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) affect escalating pharmaceutical drug prices, will be presented by its author Assemblymember Jim Wood (D-Healdsburg) to the Assembly Business & Professions Committee.
SACRAMENTO—Today, Assemblymember Jim Wood (D-Healdsburg) announced that the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) approved the “Digital 299” broadband infrastructure project along California State Route 299. This project, by Inyo Networks, Inc. (Inyo), will receive almost $47 million in funding from the California Advanced Services Fund (CASF), which is a fund that promotes deployment of high-quality advanced communications services to Californians.
SACRAMENTO—Today, Assemblymember Jim Wood (D-Healdsburg) sent a letter to an Assembly budget subcommittee to protest the Governor’s proposal to increase landing fees on commercial fisheries in order to balance the Department of Fish and Wildlife’s $20 million budget deficit.

SACRAMENTO - Yesterday, Assemblymember Jim Wood (D-Healdsburg), a dentist by profession and chair of the Assembly Health Committee, introduced AB 265, legislation that would prohibit the use of coupons for pharmaceutical drugs when other FDA-approved drugs are available and less expensive.
SACRAMENTO —Today, Assemblymember Jim Wood (D-Healdsburg), introduced AB 275 that would provide additional protections to residents of skilled nursing facilities when those facilities have a change in license status or operation, such as closure. “Residents of skilled nursing facilities are among our most vulnerable citizens and they must be protected,” said Wood.
SACRAMENTO – On January 5, during one of the first days of the 2017 State Assembly’s Regular Session, Asm. Jim Wood honored the life of Judge Harold E. Neville, Jr. by adjourning in his memory. Judge Neville died December 6, 2016. He served as one of the most respected judges in Humboldt County for many years.
“Judge Neville was a larger-than-life personality,” said Asm. Jim Wood, who represents Humboldt County. “I was proud to honor Judge Neville and the positive impact he had on so many people.”
