Assemblymember Wood Adjourns in Memory of a U.S. Marine Who Died 73 Years Ago

(Sacramento) – California State Assemblymember Jim Wood (D-Healdsburg) adjourned the Assembly in the memory of Private First Class John Saini of Sonoma County.  PFC Saini was a Marine who died in battle during World War II.  PFC Saini, along with other military members who gave their lives, was buried hastily on small Japanese Islet.  Some of the battlefield graves were left undiscovered until recently.  Watch the Assembly Access Video to listen to Assemblymember Wood describe how PFC Saini’s remains were found, identified and returned home.
