State Legislatures Approves Landmark Climate Change Legislation

(Sacramento) – Assemblymember Jim Wood (D-Healdsburg) stood in strong support of Assembly Bill 398 as the State Assembly debated the historic climate change legislation. AB 398, and its companion legislation AB 617 and ACA 1, balance our economic, health and environmental concerns as California works to reach its 2030 climate targets and improve the lives of all residents. All three passed with bipartisan support. “California needs to continue to lead the nation in the fight against climate change,” Assemblymember Wood told his colleagues during the floor debate on AB 398. “Cap and trade is just one of the very important and highly effective measures we put in place to help us create a cleaner California.” Watch this Assembly Access video to see Assemblymember Wood deliver his remarks in the State Assembly.
