SACRAMENTO—On January 16, Will Tesconi joined Assemblymember Jim Wood’s Santa Rosa district office as Field Representative. Wood is a Democrat, representing the 2nd Assembly District which includes Humboldt, Del Norte, Trinity and Mendocino counties plus northern and coastal Sonoma County. Wood maintains three district offices in Santa Rosa, Ukiah and Eureka; the Eureka office supports Del Norte, Humboldt and Trinity counties.
Tesconi, a fifth generation resident of Sonoma County, recently moved back from Denver, Colorado, where he worked for an international non-governmental organization, Global Livingston Institute, connecting university programs with local partners in East Africa to tackle complex international development issues. Prior to that, he gained experience in state government with the Office of Colorado Governor John W. Hickenlooper while pursuing his undergraduate degree.
“I’ve been following Assemblymember Wood’s leadership in the state Assembly and am eager to join a team doing so much to promote and serve the district and my home, Sonoma County. I’m excited to come back during such a dynamic and pivotal time,” said Tesconi.
He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a degree in political science. In addition, he recently completed Impact Denver, a Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation program for young professionals. He also worked with the University of Colorado at Denver’s School of Public Affairs facilitating intensive graduate courses focused on urban social issues and state government.
“We are so fortunate to have Will join our staff, and our constituents will benefit from his knowledge of and commitment to our Sonoma community” said Wood.
“Assemblymember Wood represents a huge district, all the way to the Oregon border, and I can’t tell you how valuable it is to have someone like Will who knows this part of the district inside and out and wants to make it better,” says District Director Ruth Valenzuela.
