(Sacramento) – Members of the Legislature joined Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones in announcing a package of 13 bills to help Californians affected by recent wildfires and other devastating natural disasters. Assemblymember Jim Wood (D-Healdsburg) introduced legislation to require California insurance companies offer the option of coverage for no less than 50 percent of the extended replacement cost for a home. “Additionally,” Wood said, “this legislation will require insurance companies to advise their customers of this option, and its cost, before a policy is issued or renewed.”
